The Sword Inn Hand is a 14th Century Free House with guest rooms nestled in the beautiful rural Hertfordshire village of Westmill, a mile south of the market town of Buntingford. With bar, dining room, mature landscaped gardens and charming country inspired guest rooms, it is the perfect countryside retreat for drinking, dining and relaxing. Seasonal produce is delivered to us daily by our fantastic local suppliers, and we pride ourselves on serving delicious fine food and traditional ales. Our friendly yet professional customer service and warm, relaxing atmosphere inspires our lovely customers to return week after week, and welcomes new visitors from far and wide. Owner, Jeremy Lee and his fantastic team look forward to making your visit a special one to remember.

    We were a large party of 14 and the staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. With all the extras we ordered, clearing away and dealing with the variety of drinks orders. All with smiles on their faces. But on top of the great service from the moment we all arrived, the food was excellent! Very large plates full of roast dinners. All the extras of stuffing, gravy jugs and cauliflower cheese and not one part of our order was wrong and everything on the menu available. Once we also came to pay and leave they were still very accommodating and chatty and they made us all feel extremely welcome. Would highly recommend.

    Lovely meal with great service and ambience. Large party in so very noisy for me. I’m completely deaf in one ear so struggled a bit. Would definitely go back soon 10/10 :-)

    First visit, will not be our last. Service excellence, friendly staff, to die for food. Venue in a delightful village and plenty of parking. What’s not to like about this place

    This was our second time at The Sword Inn Hand, so glad we came back, beautiful countryside village location, plenty of parking, excellent atmosphere inside, really impressed by the service, everyone that works there is great! The food is amazing, hands down the best Sunday dinner, I had to have the same as last time as it was so good, and again was fabulous but definitely want to try other options next time as the other options look delicious. Great timing with food and drinks and felt well looked after. We’ll definitely be back!
