Established in 1985, and located on Raglan Street, just off Princess Square in the heart of Harrogate, The Tannin Level is one of Harrogate's best loved and most renowned restaurants. Known for its wines (its name is a wine term after all!) as well as its food, it has garnered an enviable reputation amongst the towns sophisticated 'foodies'. The Tannin Level has a certain style and an unmistakable elegance, and its many original features combine to create the unique Tannin Level ambience.
The food is modern British with a Tannin Level twist, utilising only the very best seasonal ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible. As you might expect, all our food is freshly prepared by our chefs, which also means that if you have any special requirements, we can usually oblige. This was our first visit to the Tannin Level. First impression was very good until we were told our 7:45pm table wasn’t ready and asked to wait, then another couple who came in behind us said they had a 8:00pm reservation and then were seated before us. We had a short wait, before being taken to our table. Which was in a draughty corner. Our waiter was very pleasant and made us smile. The food was very good and the wait time for the food to be served was not a problem. The presentation was very good.

I eat @ The Tannin level a few times a year and although i recognised choices on the menu they had been changed slightly which gives the diner a point of difference with favourites Excellent as always

A return visit to the Tannin Level...to sample the Christmas lunch...yet again Tannin level delivers. Beautifully presented and delicious food. A lovely atmosphere and the staff wonderfully attentive and engaging. Whilst all the food here is wonderful... I managed a sweet today... the Milk and Honey... Wow... this so works.. Thanks again Tannin Level.

Service Food and Atmosphere good. Things are getting a little tired, tables toilets etc. just needs a bit more attention to detail

Just had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Tannin Level. It was our first visit. The food was excellent - even for a Sunday lunch menu there was plenty of choice for starters, mains and dessert - and there were a lot of gluten free choices. The staff were lovely. Good choice of wine too. Loved the surroundings - it felt cosy but at the same time there was plenty of space. We'll definitely be back. Many thanks for a lovely afternoon.
