   Excellent service. Prixfix menu choices are good. Lobster pasta was excellent as well as champagne.

   My husband and I had another memorable evening at our favorite restaurant The Village Pub. The waitress was discreet, attentive, warm, and prompt. I always order the duck and last night's dish was even better than what I remembered. My husband's entry the prawns was a new addition and was absolutely delicious.

   The Village Pub is a neighborhood gem perfect for special occasions. My wife and I celebrated our 22nd Anniversary with the prix fixe menu, which offers a broad selection of appetizers, main entrees, and desserts. The fennel and coriander-crusted tuna was superb, and the duck was out of this world. My wife immensely enjoyed the asparagus salad and the saffron-poached halibut. The wine list is remarkable, even if you select wine by the glass, as we did.

   What a great restaurant: delicious, innovative dishes with a classic presentation and service and an extensive and impressive wine list! While waiting for our table (we arrived early) I noticed a lobster dish that was not on the printed menu. I asked and was lucky that the lobster with fresh housemade pasta in a flavorful sauce with the perfect amount of spicy heat was still available. My friend (herself a chef) ordered the halibut which arrived perfectly cooked but the flavor was impacted by an ingredient not included in the description of the dish. When we explained the issue to our server, he immediately had a new dish prepared, without the overpowering ingredient. Five minutes later we were both enjoying our delicious entrees. We were almost too full for the dessert course, but... I lick my lips to the chocolate souffle with Grand Marnier cream. It is heartening in today's culture to find a place that is willing to go the extra step and make things right. Kudos to the chef and great team who make the Village Pub so fantastic! This was my first visit but definitely will not be the last.
