Welcome to The Warren Restaurant, an extension of The Crowborough Estate, holding stock of Sussex Cattle, Boer Goats, Fallow deer, and Wild boar amongst others which the restaurant draws on for its menu. We are a Dog Friendly restaurant.

Given the provenance, the kitchen predominantly cooks British food, occasionally dipping into other cuisines to provide a vehicle for flavours – nettle gnocchi for example, or poached oyster with wild boar chorizo.

WE wanted a unique fun and informal restaurant, to offer their Crowborough Estate’s produce from. When the site of the renowned Signor Franco’s became available, with those iconic arched windows of its orangery and glorious terrace overlooking the Spa town, the stage was set.

The Warren is an aesthetically pleasing restaurant. The decor and wooden features gives it a cosy feel. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, but apart from 3 other tables the restaurant was empty and lacked atmosphere. Whilst the starters were varied, the mains didn't grab us so we ordered a starter to share before leaving to eat elsewhere. The starter we ordered was the slow cooked pork cheeks, which were deliciously tender and flavourful. The pork cheeks were sat on a sweet potato mash, but then the who dish was ruined by being smothered in a very dark and overpowering red wine sauce. We felt that The Warren has potential, but was let down by the menu, which could probably benefit from a revamp.

Lovely place, amazing staff who couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly- at Christmas time an extra special thanks to all the lovely team at the Warren.

We were really looking forward to our first Christmas Day out for lunch. Sadly, the whole thing was very disappointing. The food was cold and very poor standard, especially the traditional turkey dinner. The veg was raw and inedible and literally thrown on a platter with no care at all. Staff were pleasant enough but the whole thing was very chaotic. Other guests were hanging around waiting to be seated - we were shuffled off to the bar before we could finish our meal to free up a table. The bar was a good atmosphere though! Highly overpriced for this mediocre restaurant. Definitely staying home next year!

Our previous visit was lovely so we booked for a Christmas celebration lunch. Service was very slow even though there were hardly any other diners when we arrived, table not cleared of surplus glasses and empty bottles. Had to chase up dessert menu. Dessert arrived with no spoon. Bill incorrect - overcharged by £42 and a large tip was added to the bill on top. Very disappointing.

We had a superb meal in a lovely setting. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the food and wines. Special shout out to Victoria! She went above and beyond... We both had starters and mains. No dessert. Interesting cocktail menu. We would definitely return. I felt the drinks are a wee bit overpriced. Overall..I can highly recommend

Everything was not quite right I’m afraid. Our food was mediocre and overpriced. The lamb was tough, the Seabass overcooked and some of the vegetables barely warm. The service was poor with quite miserable staff. We were all disappointed.
