Tomalo is a worldly Mexican inspired restaurant, created by UrbanSpace Hospitality, that draws influences from various regions of Mexico and beyond. Tomalo anchors the ground level of the 44 East Ave. Residences, the skyscraper on the banks of Lady Bird Lake where East Ave meets Rainey St. We source and utilize local ingredients and a focus on community.

Reservations are recommended but walk-ins are welcomed any day of the week (closed Mondays).

We have a beautiful mezzanine lounge on the second floor of our restaurant. There is also a semi private dining room. The Private Dining Room has can accommodate up to 16 people very comfortably. Full A/V hookups. The top floor also has a lavish agave bar with 100+ various tequilas and mezcal as well as a full bar. Perfect for any occasion.

Una de las mejores experiencias que he tenido en comida yucateca, los platillos de sabor insuperable, sobre todo los de cordero, el lugar es hermoso y muy bien atendido. Los precios me parecieron muy altos para lo que recibes, aún así por el sabor de la comida regresaré.

EXCELENTE COMIDA. Definitivamente uno de mis restaurantes favoritos aquí en Austin, volvería a ir mil veces. La comida es exquisita y tiene su sabor auténtico! El postre fue lo máximo. Buenos precios, buen ambiente y excelente servicio! Volveré pronto segurísimo.

After an hour and a half, we’d been served one drink and a raw fish appetizer. We had an event to get to so we asked for our check and left. The restaurant was about half full. All we ordered was tacos. I had to find our waiter twice to get any service.

The only good thing was the service, very accommodating and did all they could to make us happy given the issues they had with the kitchen. We weren’t able to eat sadly because of the kitchen being backed up. We waited for our good for an hour and has to cancel due to having to get to another event. So, I don’t know how the food is…but the margarita and service was good

The kitchen and bar service were extremely backed up. 30mins to get our first drinks and took an hour just to get our chips and salsa and almost 1.5 hours to get our entrees. Our server was great and this was completely out of his control (ended up giving us 25% so we really appreciated that given the circumstance). The food was good, but not worth the wait.

We celebrated Valentine's Day. It was an incredible experience. I recommend to visit this restaurant if you have the chance it. You will enjoy since the first moment with the attention and the food.
