Inspired by pioneer history and located on the National Road, Trace Chophouse pays homage to trailblazers journeying west. The restaurant features a rustic yet luxurious dining room with fireplaces, historic hearth made from the Zane family's 18th-century home logs, and a focus on local history. The total bill came to $176.00 no tip, w/tip $221.00 - two steaks a filet (8oz) and a skirt steak, app. clams casino, creamed spinach shared between two and 2 glass of wine $15 each. I'm sorry your "meal" food wasn't memorable, I can make filet's better at home and I have. You charge Ruth Chris/Morton's/Eddie Merlot prices but the tastes didn't deliver. You need to improve on that thus why you ask for reviews. The place is beautiful, wait staff is great the food was so so... not to $$$ breakfast the next morning (Buffet) at Skyline Kitchen was better than dinner the night before.

Had a wonderful meal, great service and the atmosphere was beautiful. It was very strange that we walked through the kitchen to get to our table but that was the only hiccup. We had two children (10,13) with us and they were able to order from a kids menu and were welcomed there. Very nice experience for a special Christmas gathering!

We were sat next to a swinging kitchen door where we got to listen to employees shouting at each other and swearing. It did not create the atmosphere one would expect when paying 147 dollars for a 30 ounce Tomahawk. I had a Cesar Salad 17, shrimp cocktail 25, mushrooms 18, steak 147 one glass of red wine 19. 220 dollars with tax 270 with tip. Honestly I could have gone to a Longhorn had 2 outlaw bone in ribeyes 40 ounces for under 70 dollars and probably less staff swearing from the kitchen. This is an overpriced hard skip.😘

Although the food was good, it was terribly overpriced. Prices on the menu is for your choice of meat only. Everything is extra. And what you got was not presented in a very artistic manner, as you would expect for their prices. Very dark atmosphere. Not worth it. They have aways to go to command those prices.

A wonderful dining experience. Steak was cooked to perfection. My allergy to seafood was taken into consideration. Server was attentive. A special Thank You and appreciation to Hector who was gracious and so kind.

Blair our waiter was marvelous we never were in need of anything we wanted Blair was a step ahead of us. My friend felt that she was treated as royalty and so was I. It gave us a chance to be able to relax eat perfectly cooked food and just enjoy each others company. It will be a night I will personally never forget and my hope is she feels the same as I. If you are looking for a special night with someone you love this should be high on the list of options and I would strongly suggest trace chophouse while in the wheeling area. If I had to have a complaint it would have been the arrogant little man who stopped the manager and complained to get a free meal that customer was just a sad little man and I was happy to hear him shut up. Thank you for the service we received I can not think of one thing to make it better the best part was the company beside me she made it one of the most magical nights of my life one I’ll never forget
