Trattoria Zooma is now Trattoria Appia. We are the same ownership, team and location and continue to pursuit of the highest quality local and DOP Italian ingredients to prepare simply as our ancestors did. We serve Authentic Neapolitan recipes in a traditional, modern and casual atmosphere with seasonal "al fresco" outdoor dining and fresh house made pasta. Offering an extensive menu of award-winning wines that includes many exclusive selections and flights so you can enjoy an impromptu wine tasting anytime. Trattoria Appia is also available for private parties and corporate events with custom menus, wine lists and seating arrangements. We offer free WiFi and free valet parking.

Open 12 pm to 10 pm Wednesday through Sunday, 5 pm to 10 pm on Tuesday. Closed Monday. For parties larger than 6 please call us directly 401-383-2002 or email events@trattoriaappia.com to better accommodate and answer questions you may have.

Tattoria Appia did not disappoint! The food was delicious as expected and the waitstaff treated us like we were the most important guests in the restaurant. The prices were reasonable throughout the entire menu. I would recommend this stop ---especially during the week when they offer specials.

We had a wonderful supper swordfish and sachetti (pouches) homemade pasta. David, our waiter is one of the best. Dino, the outstanding Manager, was leading a great team.

Probably worst dining experience I've ever had in my life : ( . I never write negative reviews, send things back to the kitchen if I'm given the wrong order, or anything like that etc. This used to be my favorite restaurant in federal hill. We made an 8:30 pm friday reservation, had to ask the waiter after 45 minutes of sitting at table and trying to catch eye contact with nearby workers to see what was going on because no one was coming by at all to give us water, take our drink orders, etc (I think they forgot to assign someone to our table??). The whole place was empty except for maybe the equivalent of 5 tables of people (not super busy). Waiter finally came and put in our orders. When our apps and drinks came, 2 different people found hair in their wine and appetizers (both had to pull it out of their mouths). Next one of the plates given to us was visibly dirty. Then, 1 out of 4 of our entrees never came, and when we asked about it (again, had to go up and ask after 15 min, because no one ever came by our table again) they said it was delivered to the wrong table. Then they said unfortunately the kitchen was closed so they could not offer an alternative meal. The meal that never came was taken off the bill, but given the overall extreme dissatisfaction, we mentioned to the waiter that two people had found hair in their food, and an additional $10 was taken off the bill (for reference, average cost of glass of wine across the table was $15). Felt it an overall very odd experience, that not even someone of higher management ever came out to speak to us ? Very, very disappointed and sad because this used to be by far the best in federal hill in terms of quality and taste. I worry that they may be about to go under judging by how empty the place was and the clear lack of care exhibited by the management and workers.

It was difficult to get a reservation for Feb 15th, and now I know why there was availability here. Beautiful spot, but not worth the hassle of parking and cost of food. The valet said he had no availability, which is just unfortunate, it doesn't affect my rating. Drink service was a little slow and our waiter didn't inform us what dishes they were out of until we were ordering them. The pasta and shrimp dish that I ordered was just not good. I've never not finished a pasta dish, but this was overloaded with fish sauce and lemon, the tagliatelle was hard, and the shrimp was rubbery. My husband said his ossobuco was just all right. I tasted it and it was tender but bland. Hard to compete with the surrounding restaurants, and maybe we just went on a bad night, but we won't be back.

They put our seat next to where all the servers were cutting bread and using the register in a tiny table that couldn't fit our pizza. We were in a highly trafficked spot away from the other patrons. We were under two supply vents that had cold air coming out of them but other than that the food and service was excellent.

Food and drinks were good, asked for bread but never got it. If it’s a busy night don’t expect valet, arrived and was told they were full and I’d have to find my own parking.
