    Food looks better than it tastes. The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich had good heat but the flavor was off. The cookie was super dry. “Off the list”

    First of all the food is delicious! I love the lasagna bolognese. But I gave a low rating for service because two weeks ago, when I ordered the lasagna bolognese and asked the waiter to substitute the ricotta for the dairy-free ricotta, I was told that they probably couldn’t do that because they make up a large batch of the lasagna in the morning, and if I wanted the DF ricotta substitution that I would need to call and ask for it that morning. So, last week I made reservations for today and specified in the Open Table “special requests” that I would like the ricotta substituted with their almond ricotta. I even called this morning and asked the waiter to tell the chef about my special request. Tonight at the table, I again told our waitress that I wanted to substitute the ricotta for their dairy-free almond ricotta. After waiting 45 minutes, our food came out and there was no Parmesan on my lasagna AND NO RICOTTA! The waitress knew immediately that the kitchen had made a mistake. All I asked was for the ricotta to be substituted for their almond ricotta. It took an additional 30 minutes to prepare a new dish. I frequently order their lasagna Bolognese with that almond ricotta (dairy-free) to be delivered to my home without any problems at all. But once in December and again today (1/11/25) when going into the restaurant to sit and eat the service was terrible. Also at our table tonight, my friend ordered dessert. After 20 minutes the waitress told her that they were out of that dessert, so she ordered a different dessert. I had already received my dessert. After 30 more minutes we all were ready to leave so she asked that the dessert be boxed up, and we asked for our check. 10 minutes later she brought out her dessert on a plate! There is a terrible disconnect between the wait staff and the kitchen. This is not the first time this has happened. It’s doubtful that we will return to this restaurant. It’s too bad because the food is quite good!

    The food was very good. However we waited a very long time for drinks. Our waitress disappeared completely and we couldn’t even order desert for my wife’s birthday. We Finally had to ask another waitress for the check after waiting 15 minutes. Very tall manager(?) guy also completely ignored us. Would give another try only because of healthy food options, but service was very bad.

    We value healthy food and are willing to pay more for it and we enjoy the menu at True Food but a consistent gripe is their cocktails are very expensive and always weak. This was especially pronounced at our recent visit when I got a cocktail supposedly containing mezcal ($18) which if you drink it, you know it has a very distinctive smokiness which was completely lacking

    The food and service were excellent. We were celebrating a milestone birthday and had hoped to eat outside, but felt it was just to chilly, so we sat inside. The boom boom music was so loud it was hard to hear each other talk and the birthday girl was a bit miffed. To create a better dining experience, you might select softer background music. We come to your restaurant for the quality of the food. Upgrading the quality of the music would do a service to people’s digestion as well as make us want to come back sooner. Just sayin’.

    Our waitress Sarah, was outstanding. She took her time to explain the menu to us, it was our 1st time there. She made the whole experience worth the dining.
