True Food Kitchen is a chef-driven restaurant and scratch bar that was founded by Dr. Andrew Weil, the pioneer of integrative medicine, to provide food that tastes great and is good for you. The food was very off today. The meatloaf was dry and salty. Carrots were dry and fibrous. The toast of the avocado toast was like a rock. The place was packed. Waitstaff was not engaged. We nibbled and didn’t take the leftovers.

First time at True Food Kitchen, and I was very impressed with the quality and taste of the food. The hummus appetizer was probably the best I've had anywhere. My hamburger, while delicious (great Umami sauce), was smaller than I expected, and the sweet potato hash was excellent. My spouse had the meatloaf and thought it was great, in addition to the chocolate cookie and ice cream (wow, the hint if pineapple was superb). The service was excellent. I did think the price was a bit high, but otherwise a great experience.

I have been a frequent patron for several years. I am very disappointed that, along with price increases, they have removed items from entrees and now offer those same items ala carte at an additional cost. Although Tru Foods is a very nice restaurant, there are other competitive options nearby that would challenge my choice in the future.

HATS OFF TO THE CHEF! Every morsel was delicious! We had the charred cauliflower starter, WOW! It’s packed with flavor and textures! Loved it! We also had the Pot Roast Dip with house made horseradish sauce! COME ON! For our side we had the mac and cheese, yummy! Both were large enough to share and both were OUTSTANDING! Best French dip I’ve ever had! My husband had the Teriyaki Quinoa Bowl which tasted amazing and was a perfectly adequate portion, filling and scrumptious! He throughly enjoyed it! We will be back soon!

Last two times our food has been bland. Today I overheard another table express disappointment that theirs wasn’t flavorful. Today a friend said they stopped ordering carry out for the same reason. Prices are so high even for nonalcoholic drinks. We ordered the kids blueberry pancake meal. For $8.50 we only got one pancake, nothing else other than a dollop of yogurt on it. That was the last straw, I won’t return and keep giving chances.

This was our first time eating here. What a great experience. The food was outstanding and the service was great, even though the restaurant was very busy. We’ll definitely be back!
