    Ordered roast chicken after checking that it included chicken breast. When it came, there was none, only a thigh and a leg, both with little meat on. Picked at it a bit and then sent it back, asking for breast meat. It came back with another thigh and an extra leg. I think it’s fair to expect some chicken breast in a roast that costs nearly £20! Quite hungry by now, I made the best of it but queried it at the end. The manager came over and first told me ‘it’s just thigh and legs today’, to which I responded that, had I known that, I would have chosen differently. She shrugged and said she couldn’t refund me as I’d eaten the food (I hadn’t asked for a refund at this point!). Then she came back a bit later and claimed the chef had given me chicken breast. Not true! And hang on, so there was breast meat available? We won’t be returning!

    Dear Lucy, I’m truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with us yesterday. Our roast chicken should always include a chicken breast, and I sincerely apologize that this was not the case. This was a mistake from my kitchen, and I take full responsibility. Additionally, your complaint should have been handled much better. I apologise on behalf of my Assistant Manager, and I will be having a conversation with her to ensure this doesn’t happen again. I would really love the opportunity to make it up to you.     The Tulse Hill Hotel has large open spaces inside and out within this well run pub/hotel. It's position on the south circular traffic system isn't ideal - but a good spot to meet friends midway between South East and South West London!

    Empty pub but still had to go to the bar to order and collect drinks even with lots of staff. Most of the menu was out of stock/unavailable by 1.30 on a Sunday which was strange. Used to be a regular here but not sure I’ll be back any time soon unfortunately…

    When the food arrives it is very tasty, however a number of drinks and food items not available (and they don't mention until after you've ordered and it's gone to the kitchen), food takes far too long, and some staff are not polite.

    We were a table of 5 and sat down at 7pm, there was only one other table of guests but half the menu was unavailable and they couldn’t even provide sauces for the steaks. The steaks were v thin and cold, the pie was swimming in water and generally the whole standard was very poor. I felt like we were in an episode of fawlty towers, it was chaotic, the waitress did take the pie off the bill and apologised but we will not be returning

    A great Sunday roast which met expectations.Staff were so helpful. A suggestion when sorting the table reservation placement is to aim for keeping groups with very small children in specific areas ...To improve the experience of the adults who are child free.

    Lovely place with great service however our roast potatoes were substituted with chips and the roast beef was way overcooked.

    First time for us. Nice dining room. Friendly, efficient service. Sunday roast nicely cooked. Decent food, freshly cooked. Decent value. All good.

    We had a really lovely Sunday roast experience at the Tulse Hill Hotel - wonderful food and wine, and really exceptional and attentive service the whole time. Just a great atmosphere overall. Thank you!
