I’ve popped into Ukiyo a handful of times now—most recently last night with a friend—and the food keeps blowing me away. Every bite of seafood tastes ocean-fresh, and the hand-rolls show off real finesse. The bar team shines, too: their sake knowledge is on point and they describe flavour profiles with real enthusiasm. For the quality, the price feels more than fair. Where Ukiyo stumbles is service. During the tasting menu the chef mumbled dish descriptions or didn't tell us altogether, leaving us guessing what we were eating, and the floor team, while polite, never quite relaxed into a warm, proactive flow. It isn’t unfriendly—just a little awkward. Sort the service kinks, and Ukiyo could be a five-star knockout.

Annoying drinks staff sadly this is great food for a tasting menu but other than the chefs the other staff need to do better

Amazing, very underrated, insanely delicious food, great service and care, and they also surprised us with a little treat at the end :) One of the best meals I’ve had for its price. Great chefs too.

The quality of the fish is hands down some of the best I’ve had in London. It is a small, intimate setting with only bar seating. Sauces were well made and the rice was delicious.

Ukiyo HandBar roll is just an amazing place to go, food is fresh and the chef is cooking everything in front of your eyes. The atmosphere is very cozy, it’s a small restaurant with only the counter, we loved it. + The owner is a super nice guy !

We went for the tasting menu, also let the chef decide what we eat. Food is amazing. Ingredients are fresh and the testing menu is good value. Service is a bit of a miss, the waitresses kept asking us if we need anything else (and to pay) when there were still more dishes to come as part of the tasting menu. If there is time limit for the booking and it's not enough for the tasting menu, why did they not let us know when we ordered? Or why having the tasting menu in the menu? The chef was very understanding and amazing though :) Would recommend for a quick sushi fix.
