Experience winter in style with Van Acre’s exclusive Igloo Experience. Our luxurious igloos offer an elevated atmosphere, complete with stylish finishes, cozy blankets and adjustable space heaters. Relax as our dedicated staff serves our full menu, perfect for lounge-style dining and craft cocktails. Join us for a memorable evening in Wausau’s most enchanting winter retreat. Reservations are available in 90 minute blocks with a $150 food and beverage minimum. A nonrefundable $100 deposit is required and will be credited to your food and beverage purchase. Single checks only and 18% gratuity will be automatically added. Maximum capacity of 8. For changes and cancellations, please contact the restaurant directly.

Van Acre has become our family go-to for a nice meal. This restaurant really shines in all depts. but what really stands out to me after +/- 10 visits is the staff. To a person - including management - they have been friendly, knowledgeble and do a tremendous job of pacing the meal.

We had a great experience hosting out of state business people for dinner at Van Acre. They enjoyed it so much they wanted to go back the next night, and we did!

This is simply a phenomenal restaurant!! I consider myself a high-end restaurant connoisseur and this place is remarkable! Not only is the food amazing but the staff is top-notch. Everyone is extremely friendly and accommodating. I would actually drive from Green Bay just to dine here.

This was our first time to Van Acre and we were pleasantly surprised! Great food, service and ambience. Very busy, but I can understand why. The sitting area by the bar was very pleasant and comfortable. Our Waitress, Carly, was great! She was very pleasing and attentive. We will certainly go back!

We love our time usually at Van Acres and we’re very excited to take our 25 year old and 10 year old children to eat inside the igloos. We had a later reservation for 8:30pm and got there 30 minutes early. We sat at the bar and got drinks until our time to eat outside in the igloos. We we there at 7:55pm and no one else was in the igloos at the 6:30pm time (we found out from the server), but we were not seated until almost 8:40 to our igloo by the bartender. As soon as we got into the igloo, the server came in and from the very instant we felt rushed. She reminded us we only had until 10pm instantly (we know the rules, as we have been in the igloos before), and rushed us to order apps and within 5-10 minutes after that told us we needed to order asap because the kitchen closes at 9. She came into the igloo so often that we never did get a chance to relax. We weren’t acting like we would be going over the time. We were just trying to relax the whole time and let our children enjoy their experience inside the igloo. I felt like I had to constantly watch the clock, as every time she came in it was another “so many minutes left” or rushing us. The food and drinks were great. But we were very disappointed in the constant reminders from our server. And we waited all winter for this. The first thing a waiter shoulder never say to someone who reserved a special time and deposited money for it is “ok you have this much time to be done”. We left the igloo at 9:59-10:01pm, feeling disappointed and unfulfilled in our experience.

Service was excellent as usual. Cheese curds delicious. Salmon and Rib eye very good. Farm pizza sausage was bland, needed more ricotta.

Sea bass = excellent Smoked platter appetizer was a top value. A variety of meats and accoutrements. Delicious and fun to share with 4.

I’ve made the trip from MKE with my family for the past 4 years, primarily for Granite Peak however, Van Acre has become just as much part of the trip as the skiing. Service and cuisine is as good, if not better than anything I’ve been to in Milwaukee.

Always a consistent exceptional dining experience overall from service, food, drink and atmosphere. One of the best dining options in the Wausau area.
