Verbena is a restaurant and bar located in the heart of West 6th Street occupying the street side ground level of the award-winning Canopy by Hilton Hotel. The venue is comprised of a 36-seat bar and lounge, a 60-seat dining room with open kitchen, and wood-burning hearth, both which open to a lush open-air courtyard.

Journey through Chef Paolo’s gastronomic narrative where he pays homage to his contemporary Mexican roots. His menu is highly influenced with essences of French techniques and contains stories and flavors he’s discovered throughout his travels. It is truly a memorable dining experience.

Solo puedo juzgar la experiencia en San Valentín. Fuimos a cenar y desde el principio un desastre. El menú era cerrado ($$$) y nos sirvieron antes el postre que los entrantes. El camarero fue muy simpático pero la comida no nos gustó. Teníamos muchas ganas de probar este restaurante pero nos decepcionó. Igual tienen mejores platos en la carta pero no sé si volvería.

I don't know if they were short staffed or not, but the food took a very very long time to come and there were very few people around so we couldn't ask them a lot. I don't think it was worth the money.

The place is nice and the service was good. The food was ok, but some of the dishes were a bit too much in terms of mixing different ingredients and flavors together and resulted in being very heavy. One of them was with fish and mussels but the sauce they were in was basically covering all the taste, same for the venison dish. The Pinot grigio wine did not taste great, we had a glass each, felt like it had been opened for a few days. Also at that price I would expect them to pour it at the table in proper glasses. We both got out of there feeling bloated although we only had an entrée and one glass of wine each and had a hard time digesting all of that. I do not think it is worth the value and I believe the dishes were too crowded in terms of ingredients.

Food was great. Atmosphere was great. Drinks were great. Our server not so much. She wasn’t super attentive which isn’t that big of deal to us. The issue is it was my wife’s birthday which I notated on the reservation. There were gifts in the table so pretty obvious. I wasn’t expecting a free desert or anything but we were never even offered desert. She brought us the bill and we didn’t see her for a good while. By the time she came to collect we were out of time. It would have been nice for her to acknowledge it was her birthday. We will be back, just would request a different server.
