We are a country Gastropub owned by farmers. Our farm supplies the beef, lamb and pork and we source other ingredients from local producers where we can. Our small seasonal menu changes regularly reflecting what is available in our area. We pride ourselves on being very much a country pub, offering freshly prepared seasonal food and a warm welcome. We also love offering locally produced drinks, such as gins, rums, ales and wines, giving you the complete taste of Sussex.

Great option for a country pub lunch. Get the feeling it is even better on a sunny day - fantastic south-facing terrace with view of the South Downs & channel.

Having driven past The White Hart many times, we decided to book a table for Sunday Lunch, and are so glad we did. The roast beef was superb - possibly the best roast beef we have ever had - tender, succulent and perfectly cooked. The service was friendly and efficient, and the whole occasion was thoroughly enjoyable. We will certainly be back soon.
