Windows on Westella is ideally located at the Tasmanian Pickled Onions manufacturing facility on the outskirts of Ulverstone. Just 15 minutes from Devonport we offer an extensive modern café menu showcasing Tasmanian food and local produce. The cafe has become famous for fresh Fish and Chips with pickled onions and WOW Weekly Dessert Waffles.

Open 7 days except for public holidays our All Day menu is available until 30 minutes before closing time. Fully licensed serving our own Broad Acres Vineyard wine grown on site. Easy access with free parking and seating in a spacious setting Windows On Westella is ideal for special occasions and private functions. Bookings are recommended

Enjoy our signature pickled onion tasting experience, complimented with a free tasting of our Broad Acres Vineyard wines along with tastes of locally made pickled onion chorizo and Ashgrove pickled onion cheese. Our pickled onion manufacturing process will be explained during your tasting along with the video presentation of the process. Seating is at our high counter top table with stools and is limited to 8 guests at a time.

We were seated promptly ,served quickly and the food was of a very good standard totally enjoyed our meal ,well done again .

Unfortunately we are not sure what the hype is with this place. The food was absolutely horrid. The flavours, or lack of, consisted of hideous combinations. Gordon Ramsay needs to get out to WOW ASAP 🤦‍♀️ Hash browns made two at our table physically sick due to the oil content. The pulled pork roll was full of sauces and beetroot sauerkraut stuff which made the roll unbearable to eat. The tacos were in-fact wraps with extremely dry crumbed chicken pieces that had no flavour and came with very little sauce for the size of the wrap. The house made pie was horrible. The pastry chewy and the flavour just didn’t work. The chips unseasoned and tasteless no matter how much salt we tried to put on. We left special instructions during the booking that this was for 2 birthdays, 18th and 21st yet nothing was said at all at the restaurant so why even ask during the booking….? We found the staff passive aggressive in their service, like we were an inconvenience and watched as one waitress wiped tables, then used the same cloth to wipe something off of the floor. We left our table, with most of the meals only partially eaten, to have to pay $200 for the privilege. To any mainlanders who have had great dining experiences we would suggest to avoid the ridiculous expense and the over rated hype about this picked onion cafe. It’s just not worth it and honestly the food was just plain BAD!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our café, we are sorry to learn that your visit failed to meet your expectations. Our staff were aware that not all of the food was consumed and did ask at the table if everything was ok to which they understand it was. We would more than happily provide another meal and/or a full refund if we were advised at the time of your concerns. Our goal is to provide delicious meals and welcoming service to all our guests. We love to recognise and celebrate special occasions, and we apologise this did not happen. Regarding cleaning and hygiene, we take this very seriously, we can assure you that our cloths are disposable and are not re-used. We are sorry that your experience was not what you had expected.

Have had the double crumbed mushrooms at windows lots of times always excellent but this time the crumbing was not good at all

Kids menu was amazing! Full menu was brilliant, all food was amazing and delicious. We will be back!

We came here with our pup and sat outside. They were really nice and filled up our bowl for the dog to drink from. The food was incredible, probably one of the best burgers I've ever had, and the service was impeccable. Will definitely come here again when I'm in the area!

Waitress came to take our order but we were never provided with a kids menu. Other than that food and service was spot on.
