Tacoma’s newest waterfront restaurant, Woven Seafood & Chophouse, is a Roy Yamaguchi concept owned by The Puyallup Tribe of Indians.     We did not have a good experience. Hamachi collar tasted fishy (bad) and there’s no seasoning to it. Also no presentation or plating on this dish, not even a wedge of lemon. We could only eat 2/3 of the halibut as the other 1/3 was overcooked (tasted leathery due to it being deep fried at the top). The potatoes on this dish felt like they were microwaved first, then flashed fried or put in the pan with oil and herb seasoning. We know because we do the same at home when we’re in a hurry. Server forgot our silverware and we waited sometime after our main dishes were on the table.

    Woven is just a local Japanese fusion restaurant and would have liked to have seen more Puyallup inspired dishes and tastes. The service was good and made the experience, especially our server.

    We felt the lights were a bit too bright. It definitly threw off the ambiance a little. Our waiter was very pleasant but unfortunately forgetful and the service was a bit slow.

    First time for my wife and I at Woven for dinner tonight. We have been to Roy’s in Waikiki many times over the years and never had a bad meal so we were excited to try Woven. I saw many bad reviews about the service, but we had excellent service from the time we walked in until we left. Theambience was not great, although somewhat made up for by the big windows. The lights are up so bright that we felt like we were sitting in a cafeteria. The complementary edamame, and pork ribs were excellent. Brussel sprouts were way too sweet and way too soft. The black cod had a beautiful presentation, was cooked perfectly, and had great sides, but was completely ruined by a sauce that was overly sweet.  The paella was most definitely not paella.Should be listed on the menu as risotto with seafood on top. Not sure we would ever come back here again, but if we did, might stick with items from the grill.

    interesting menu options, restaurant has multiple different feeling seating areas, some areas are alot brighter than others. server Zack was great

    We had a 12:00 pm reservation and were seated promptly in a corner waterfront table with fantastic view. After our orders were taken for 2 sushi rolls and a seafood louie salad, we waited more than 80 minutes in a mostly empty restaurant for our orders to arrive. After notifying our server of our time constraint, our food arrived 90 minutes after ordering. Crazy…

    We were a group of four and we all agreed: The food was exquisite! One of the best we have had. From appetizers to dessert, all was great! Our server, Patrick, was friendly, explained the menu well, and timed deliver of the various food and drink items in a timely but unrushed manner. All in all, a great evening.

    Inside air quality was so bad. My family had hard time because of smell of cooking smoke. I asked the server and she let the manager know. I would hesitate to visit again with my elderly family members.
