XUNTOS, "together" in Gallego, is a Tapas Bar from Chef Sandra Cordero in the heart of Downtown Santa Monica, serving small plates of things we want you to try: from the farmer's market around the corner to traditional dishes of Galicia, Asturias, Catalunya & the Basque Country, as they're eaten in Spain.

The wines follow the food: natural, fun & unrefined–joined at the bar with Spanish twists on classic cocktails, plus vermouths, sherries & cold cervezas.

Walk in to the bar for Xuntanza from 5-7pm, Tuesday-Saturday!

Xuntanza (Gallego for a get-together, or hanging out with old friends) is a bar-only pintxos menu by Chef Sandra Cordero. The pintxos go together with specialty cocktails by Kim Stodel ($14), along with gin tonics, Spanish natural wines ($12), vermuts & cold cervezas ($6) from Beverage Director Scott Baker. *Only available at the bar.*

We enjoyed an evening where the head chef had brought in additional colleagues to give us a unique, gustatorially wonderful, and fun dining experience. The synergy amongst the chefs created a balance of cocktails, wine pairings, hors d'oeuvres, and tapas that kept us impressed and happy the whole evening.

I've eaten at Xuntos a few times in the last 6 months. Previously, I was impressed by both the service and the food. Wow, things can change quickly! We dined there last weekend and while the food was about typical, the service was atrocious. The server was clearly more focused on turning the table than providing even a modicum of service. We were jammed into one of the tables upstairs (definitely do NOT eat there, stay in the first floor dining room) and we felt rushed the entire time we were there. Hey, it's Saturday night and we were an earlier reservation so at one level I understand this; to make it so obvious however, well, read on. We used the InKind app to pay for our meal I have used it every time I've eaten there. It always went supe smoothly (it's a great app). For some reason our sever bnver checked and came running out of the restaurant screaming "Are you going to pay your bill?) This was on Santa Monica Boulevard in the middle of Saturday night so, of course, the situation was mortifying. When I informed her we had paid via the app like always, she said "OK" turned around and went back inside. No apology, nothing for publicly embarrassing us over her mistake. Of course, the various homeless in the area hearing this couldn't pass up a chance to harass us. Bottom line: I'll never eat here again. If you don't want to be rushed, treated like cattle and totally disrespected, you won't either.

Hands down one of our favorite spots with delicious and authentic Spanish and Gallegan food. Service is great and friendly and the drinks list is fun and delicious.

It was our first time there and they probably gave us the best table in the house, up on the mezzanine overlooking the bar area. We fully enjoyed the delicious tasting menu (some dishes were thoroughly delightful) and the additional surprises the kitchen sent us. The service was good and so was the ambiance. We look forward to going back and exploring their enticing menu. Overall a great experience!

Best restaurant I’ve eaten at this year!! From the moment we walked in the door we felt like we were swept away on holiday!! What a neighborhood gem, the type of restaurant you might fall into on a European holiday! How lucky is Santa Monica!! The care and love that goes into each delicious dish is evident in every memorable morsel. Our Gin and homemade Tonic frozen grapes was gently floral and refreshing. Potato Croquetas! Papas Bravas! Prawns!! Exceptional! I recommend Xuntos to single diners for a thoughtful place to drop in and feel the essence of authentic hospitality! I recommend Xuntos to couples looking for a romantic dinner. I recommend Xuntos to groups of 4 or more so you can sample more more more of the seasonal menu!!! Can’t wait to drive across town and indulge again!!

We did the tasting menu- it was delicious! The dishes came out at a great pace; we were never left waiting and wondering when the next plate was coming out. We submitted allergy and dietary needs beforehand and the staff was decently attentive to them, minus one small hiccup that was instantly remedied. The wine pairings were a good addition. Overall, a wonderful night out!
