I frequented Zaytinya restaurants in DC and NYC over the last ten years, and was delighted when it opened on December 17 in Culver City. We just had our first dinner there, which was exquisite and almost brought tears to my eyes. I highly recommend it to one and all. The blend of Spanish, Greek, Lebanese, and Turkish recipes and flavors is out of this world. Many thanks to Jose Andres and his fabulous team and wonderful work.

We were seated at the last table in the back outside and were neglected all night unfortunately. They never even gave us clean plates during the service as we were ordering new dishes. I’m sure the DC location is a better experience than this new LA location but after this Christmas Eve debacle I doubt I’ll ever go back.

I recently ate at Oyamel in Wash DC. This was beyond OUTSTANDING! The food was breathtaking. So I had high expectations for Zaytinya west coast. Though the food was good, it did not rate anywhere near my DC experience. Our server was very nice and took care to meet our needs. And I know it's only been open a week, but in the middle of dinner, over very loud music, a fire alarm and recorded voice went off and kept going for at least 10 minutes. We were told there was no need to leave, that it was probably a fire door in the connecting hotel. I would've thought something would be offered for this. We were told there is sister restaurant to Oyamel on the roof. I will certainly try it, But overall, this did not live up to Jose Andres' superb culinary genius. PS - Both my friend and I ate exactly the same items and we both are having digestive issues today!!!

The plates are small and perfect to be able to try the variety of dishes. Amazing flavors.

The meal was delicious. The scallops were cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable. I would strongly recommend this restaurant. Just one little thing: the music was way too loud, and it was hard to talk over the music. We were there at an off time with few people present, and still, it was hard to keep a conversation going. I asked them to turn down the music, but they did not.

Hopefully this restaurant is here to stay, at the Shay. The remodel is elegant, with lots of attention to detail. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The food was SUPER unique, and delicious. It's so refreshing to see dishes that you don't see everywhere else. Also, the menu is large enough that you could come a few times and never repeat dishes. I am very excited to put this in my restaurant rotation.
