Zinicola is located in Ballantyne Village across from Ballantyne hotel. Stop by and enjoy our modern Italian food by Chef and owner Richard Cranmer.
We make our pastas from scratch, just like my Nonna.

Made last minute reservations and they were able to get us in. We were seated right away in a busy area but we still were able to have normal conversation and enjoy the time together. We had Mussels in Red Sauce that were nice and garlicky. Mussels cooked perfectly. Side Ceasar salad which was just enough and didn’t fill me up. Then the main dishes of Seafood over Squid Ink pasta for my wife and Short rib Ravioli for me. Both dishes were wonderful. On to the Canoli and Cappucinio for dessert. Spot on again! Our server was attentive, very pleasant but not hovering. We asked for our food to served slowly so we could enjoy conversation. Boom. Done. We have been to Zinicola multiple times now and it never dissapoints.

Had a wonderful dinner with my girlfriend. The food and atmosphere were wonderful. Highly recommend the Chicken Parmesan

It was a very busy Friday night. I love this neighborhood standby, but on this day I could tell they were struggling. Bar orders were so slow that they came after the meal. One was made incorrectly, but it took over 30 minutes to get the revision. The staff was courteous, but new. I think I will avoid Friday nights here whenever possible.

The food and service was exceptional. EWe ordered their short rib ravioli and pappardelle bolognese for dinner and it was deliveyhting

Food selections for entree’s on the menu were minimal. Service person was not attentive. The portions are much smaller than they used to be. Food was not hot enough. I left hungry. We asked for bread several times. But the server waited until our meal was almost over to bring the bread. The wait for drinks seemed endless. We were never asked if we wanted to refresh our drinks. We had to ask for a dessert menu. Waited 20 minutes for coffee, which was after our dessert was served. The service and value for the food was not worth it.

Birthday dinner midweek. The place was packed, and very loud. We had a reservation and sat in a booth which helped maybe? Food was very good! A seafood pasta and a bolognese, and a lovely tiramisu which was a birthday treat. They didn’t have enough glassware clean due to the crowd and we had our pre dinner cocktail delayed and also our wine with dinner. Wow buy some more glassware. Would I return? Never on a weekend if it’s like that midweek, but yes I will try again for a less crazy experience because the food is very good.

I ordered the Pappadella Bolognese. I can’t tolerate a lot of salt but forgot to ask for low salt content. This would have been an exceptional dinner if it had a lot less salt. The food in Italy is not salty.

I was under impressed by this restaurant. The food was mediocre, and the service wasn’t that great. We had pasta dishes but we did not get offered any fresh Parmesan, we had to ask for bread, while the waitress was friendly. It seems she was in the weeds and needed help. No fault of hers. That’s poor management.

Everyone so nice and helpful from entrance to restaurant throughout dinner. We were so lucky to have Alex as our server. He was excellent and so personable. Food was soooooo good - one of the best pasta meals we have had since moving to Charlotte. Will definitely be back

Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Food was prepared and presented very well. We were never hurried. Truly an excellent experience. We will be back!
