El Scalini Fedeli fue inaugurado en 1995 por el chef y propietario Michael Cetrulo y pronto adquirió la más alta calificación entre los restaurantes de Nueva Jersey. Fue clasificado como Excelente por el New York Times en 1996, como el restaurante favorito de Nueva Jersey en la encuesta de Zagat de 2001 y como el mejor italiano del mes y entre los 25 mejores restaurantes de todo tipo en Nueva Jersey en 2007. En su menú destaca el raviolo blando de yema de huevo con mantequilla de trufa negra, el salmón con costra de pignoli con alcachofas y agnolotti de menta en salsa reducida de tomate y albahaca y las chuletas de res a la pimienta de cereza glaseadas con vino de Oporto. El restaurante ocupa un histórico edificio que data de 1740 y presenta un ambiente ligeramente formal, con techos abovedados de estilo toscano con acabados venecianos en escayola. Las paredes están decoradas con tapices y espejos de época.

Waiters was very anxious and sparse and rigid. Ambience was nice but old, curtains need to be upgraded to something more modern. Staff need to be more welcoming. It was my husband’s 60th birthday and I requested happy 60th birthday to be on the desert plate but disappointingly they just ignored or forgot to conform. Overall, it was nice but for a 300.00 bill I may not return.

I can't believe thst people can go to such an elegant restaurant and carry on a conversation as loud as a Rolling Stones Concert. The inconsiderateness of these induviduals is disturbing and I can appreciate there is little that management can do about it. But maybe people will read this and think what an absolute idiot they were for acting like a bunch of 4 year olds in public. The restaurant, food staff, etc. are all the absolute best in this entire area.

Wonderful birthday dinner for four of us. The place was welcoming, food was delicious and chairs were comfortable. This Italian Restaurant is the best in the area for sure. Our server Dan was spot on professional with a great attitude.

The food is scrumptious and plated beautifully. There is a lot of variety but not an overwhelming number of choices so a diner is too swamped to come to a decision. Their dining room is warm and inviting and the staff is very well trained and personable to the diners.

Delicious food served with flair. Special Valentine’s Day menu was excellent. Decor is very dated though and I noticed many chairs were scratched and need new pads. Slightly more expensive for the holiday but I don’t mind paying for the high quality of food and service. Maybe a rose for every couple to take home would’ve been a nice touch.

Delicious 5 course pre fixe menu. Started with egg filled raviolo, followed by a shrimp and lobster dish in a garlic wine sauce. Both were amazing. Don't skip dessert either. The chocolate souffle was perfect.

Our evening at Scalini Fedeli in Chatham was phenomenal... The dining room is stunning, with an beautiful high scuplted ceiling, and elegantly set tables inside a farmhouse that is 260 yr. old. The ambience is wonderful for a nice romantic dinner. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful with guiding us throught the prix fixe menu and all of the options. Our waiter, David made sure that we always had anything we needed or wanted and that our wine glasses were always filled. The food was exquisite, each course was more deliicious than he last. My wife and I were extremely satisfied with everything that we ordered and aren't sure which was our favorite since all of the food was spectacular. I highly recommend Scalini Fedeli in Chatham if you are looking for incredidble food and a wonderful dining experience.
