Chef Eric Johnson cooks casual but elegant dishes at his Capitol Hill restaurant specializing in Contemporary Asian cuisine. Since opening in 2014, he’s won over Seattle diners with dishes like chili cumin pork ribs, fried master stock chicken, and crispy duck fresh rolls. The cocktails feature Southeast Asian ingredients like galangal and lime leaf. Stateside is conveniently located on lower Capitol Hill within a short walk of the Convention Center, the Paramount theater and downtown. Check out Stateside's cocktail lounge next door, Foreign National, for an intimate craft cocktail experience.

    The restaurant has a great atmosphere and is very cozy. The food was delicious with unique flavors—our favorites were the duck rolls and turmeric rockfish. Desserts and cocktails were tasty as well. The service was exceptional, and our waiter, Garreen, was very attentive, offering helpful recommendations for the best experience. A great place—we'll definitely be back!

    The place was just “okay” - honestly the best thing was the beet salad, and even that was just “good” not out of this world. The dishes lacked complexity in taste, and while there was nothing wrong with any of the entries, they were a little “meh”. At that price, and given the reputation that the place has, we expected a lot more. We ordered: Duck rolls, beet salad, garlic shrimps, crispy chicken and beef stroganoff

    This is definitely a place I can return as much as possible. Great food and drinks. Don’t need anything else.

    Great food and service. We ordered three of the small plates, one large, and two desserts to share among three of us. All were excellent.

    first time here...service was great. sat wt the bar; happy hour has some great options for food just to try out some of the mains, along with $10 cocktails. every drink we had was tasty. mushroom spring rolls were fantastic, along with the crispy chili shrimp. i had the tuna crudo, which was honestly so salty i couldn't finish it. my partner had the crispy chicken and it was great with the ginger rice...portion was very big and we could've split it. all in all it was a great meal/experience and i will be back.

    This restaurant never disappoints! The service and food are wonderful. We had a large group and ordered many menu items and enjoyed it all. Can’t wait to return.
