Gather at the Blue Pig Tavern, our distinctive restaurant tucked in the corner of Congress Hall. Known for hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites, its name derives from a gambling parlor sited in Congress Hall in the mid-1800s. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Today, we offer timeless classics and new seasonal delights with ingredients that are always farm-fresh.

    Nice dinner food was excellent and Lilly was a great waitress. Had a drink at the bar before dinner. Would highly recommend.

    Was a great breakfast experience today! Sat by the fireplace, everything came out hot and delicious. One of our favorite Cape May dining spots for breakfast.

    Great food and atmosphere. Our server was so attentive and helpful with recommending drinks and food. They had a great selection of specials in addition to the regular menu.

    Our experience was excellent. Tried to get a table by the fireplace on a cold winter night. It’s hard to find a cozier spot than the Blue Pig on a cold winter night. Jared was an excellent server. All of the food was excellent.

    Brussel sprouts could be a tad crispier. They were a little greasy. Short ribs were done perfectly but were lacking in flavor. Some type of seasoning would have been nice. Hungarian barbecue sauce like grandma used to make?

    My wife and I have dined at the Blue Pig before. Our meal did not disappoint us. We started with polenta bites as an appetizer, which were plentiful enough for us to share. My wife ordered the steak frites and I had one of the signature dishes, meatloaf wrapped in bacon. The food came out in an appropriate amount of time. Our server, Lily, was attentive and friendly. The restaurant was almost full and yet we were able to hear each other speak as the noise level was not bad. The lighting is a bit dim so my only suggestion is to brighten up the room just a little more. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and evening,

    Dinner was very good. We had a limited menu as we were on the "hibernation package" from the Star. We had a choice of an appetizer, entree and a dessert. The chicken pot pie was delicious and had a lot of crust and was filling. Our dessert was bread pudding and that was very tasty. I would highly recommend both.
