Our Dining Room, Writing Room, Courtyard Garden and Sonnet Lounge restaurant are the perfect places to catch up with friends or colleagues. We are open daily for dining with food being served from 9 am - 8.45 pm, and drinks until late.

Whether it's our breakfast menu, weekday lunch, or dinner, The Poet's House stunning decor, wonderful dishes, and first-class service guarantee an unforgettable dining experience

Had the Festive Menu of Roast Turkey followed by Gingerbread Cake. Very impressed, all well cooked & tasty. Fresh ingredients. Excellent service in a lovely setting. Reasonable priced.

I was not expecting a Sunday roast some of which I believe had been put together from catering packs. Certainly the turkey had not been carved from an in-house roasted bird. I cook all our meals using fresh ingredients so this meal was a real disappointment. The food was perfectly edible but not what we had expected from such a plush establishment. Unfortunately we were there to celebrate our son’s birthday and it fell somewhat flat. We won’t be booking a table here again.

Have now been here twice, first time in the bar and then in the dining room. Both times were perfect with attentive and friendly staff and all menus served in both locations. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to returning in the summer to experience the garden area which looks really inviting.

An extremely enjoyable evening's dining in very pleasant surroundings, enhanced right from the start with a complementary glass of very good prosecco. At all times the service - never intrusive - was polite and friendly. We chose only two courses, main and dessert + coffees. Each of these was perfectly prepared and presented - most of all, delicious. The main courses, quite ambitious and imaginative, were very tasty and enjoyable - finished to the very last morsel! Overall, a most delightful experience. Highly recommended and we intend returning soon.

I had Sunday lunch with my son and his wife. I could not fault it in any way and found it very good value considering the quality of food and service and comfortable surroundings.
