We have eaten here several times (it’s always great) , took my father-in-law tonight for his birthday. He had a wonderful experience.

Solid option for traditional steak house, and only real option in McCall unless a Whitetail member, but lacks some smaller plate, more modestly priced options. Also adding an option or two for vegetarians would be helpful. Wine list is strong but multiple on retail is high. The bar adjacent to the restaurant is a better option for us.

Ambiance and service as always was excellent. Food is a little pricey, but that is known prior to our visit.

We sat down and were not greeted or offered water for over 10 minutes. We ordered immediately when they finally gave us water and didn’t receive our food for over an hour later. Worst experience I have ever had at Narrows - $200 meal for 2 and horrible service and extremely loud. Very disappointing

Our family has been dining at the Narrows for over 13 years. It's our go to place for nice occasions. We went recently and our waiter Matthew was exceptional, attentive and polite. All of the wait staff was great. My concern is with the food itself. My husband and I both had the Caesar salad. This is the second visit where I recall thinking "no way is this Caesar salad". The dressing is certainly more like a blue cheese and the lettuce wasn't romaine, but soft field lettuce. I don't understand - so simple of a dressing/salad to make. Both my husband and daughter had the French onion soup and said it was lackluster - again so simple to add some depth (very little bread or cheese). I had the surf and turf with "prawns". Seriously? There were two small shrimp (you know the 51-60 size). I almost laughed. However, the steak was perfect. A small smear of mashed potatoes (no texture at all) and a few small carrots and the asparagus was cut into 3rds, why? My father-in-laws salmon was rather small and dry (come on we have the best salmon in ID), served with black-eyed peas (really, that's a totally Southern item and out of place for the mountains of ID). The tuna tartar, while delicious by itself, came with nothing to put it on (bread/chips). We love the Narrows and will continue to go, but PLEASE for the price and being the nicest restaurant in town, they really need to step up their food game. It honestly wouldn't take much.

Brittany was amazing!! Filets were ok. Charred on top and asked for medium rare. Love the lake view. Sorbets were interesting and we usually love sorbets. Food was average this time.

Fresh oysters on the half shell and the steaks were fabulous, but the soups were amazing! Mathew, our waiter, was exceptional!!
