The Island Groove is our live band who performs the top 40’s hit songs from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s as well as current hits. The cover charge is $10 per person on Sunday, Wednesday, & Thursday beginning at 8:15pm and $15per person on Friday & Saturday beginning at 8:15pm. Please keep in mind that once the band starts the cover charge applies to all guests in the restaurant and the bar regardless of the time they arrive.

No-show reservations/cancellations for any reason outside of 48-hours will not be eligible for refunds. Cancellations must be sent via email to TongaRoom@Fairmont.com to be eligible. Live music in Tonga Room begins at 7 pm. Any tables that are seated at 7pm or later (inclusive of guests joining before 7pm) will also include a $15 cover charge per person added to the bill. Each reservation guarantees a table in our dining room for a 2-hour experience. $50 per person charge will be used towards your dinner experience. This experience is not for bookings for drinks and/or appetizers only. Requests for tables poolside will be attempted, but cannot be guaranteed. The atmosphere was amazing and worth the price. If you are all about the food you will be a little disappointed. It was OK. You are paying for the place not the food.

The good: unique ambiance, vibe, and decor. The mood and music takes you away from SF. Props to the band. The waiters and waitresses. The bad: the food was lukewarm, metaphorically and literally. The drinks are okay though. It has so much potential to be better food-wise. The ugly: I needed to make a change to my reservation 3 weeks in advance. I called every other day, no answer. I wrote via Apple Businesses/iMessage, they connected me to their number, no answer… in the morning and evening. I wrote an email a week and a half ago, and they still haven’t answered. So if I wanted to cancel, even if weeks in advance, I wouldn’t have been able to. Insert every bad word here. What service? No one answered any phone call while we were getting checked in. TL;DR: 4K IMAX decor and mod but 480p food and laggy service.

I had read the reviews so I wasn't expecting much. I am not sure what the hype is all about. $50/pp for a reservation when tables were sitting empty and people without reservations were let in. Wait staff was friendly, food was horrible. It can't really be called a tiki bar. It is more of a family-friendly rainforest cafe, as kids were everywhere. It's worth a quick drink at the bar, but skip the food!

Our server David was the highlight of our visit! The ambiance is great food is not. They really should change up the menu to keep people willing to eat here. Drinks are strong and delicious!

Apathetic greeting staff. The so-called spicy basil chicken tasted like something you’d buy at Safeway and boil in the bag for 'preparation'. It contained pieces of sub par chicken and mixed green/yellow/red peppers in a crushingly boring gravy. That’s it. No other veggies at all. Spicy? Not even a hint. Dinner with tip for 2 came to over US$200 which included alcohol of exactly 1 beer. What is going on, Fairmont? This place is a burned out bulb in your beautiful Christmas tree.

Go for the vibe and a different atmosphere. It's cute, fun, designed by a Hollywood set designer. Food is good, heads up that some of the entrees are sharable sizes, so unnecessary for two people to order one each - just ask for more rice. The tiki drinks are outrageously priced at $24 each. If you want a great tiki bar as the priority go elsewhere in the city, there are multiple options for 30% cheaper drinkwise. Overall, cute spot for an eccentric dinner, not good value at all for what they charge. Bill was > $125 per person for only one drink, app, entree each. I'll save going here again for when my parents are visiting town for something unique - but otherwise, wouldn't recommend if you want great food or great tiki drinks are your primary goal.

Wonderful experience and highly recommend if you like a Polynesian ambience and live band. Better if you have a couple of Zombie drinks and groove to the 70s and 80s music. Come with some fun loving uninhibited party animals.and you’ll have a great time!

This is a fun kind of experience, mostly for an older crowd. We ordered the pupu sampler (appetizer), the beef main dish and one of the salads. The food was great and my mom (aged 77) loved it and the band. If you come after 7 pm they play music here. Overall one of the highlights of our trip!
