While the food was decent, the overall experience left us disappointed. Arriving on a Saturday night at 7 pm, we were surprised to find the restaurant completely empty—a red flag in itself. But the real letdown was the watered-down cocktails. For a single round, six of us paid a little over $100, yet the drinks tasted like flavored water with no hint of alcohol. This felt not only disappointing but frankly dishonest. Without a bartender in sight, it seemed one of the wait staff prepared our drinks, which likely explains the lack of quality. All in all, this experience was far below our expectations.

Had a lovely dinner here before a show at the Chicago Theater. My wife and I both enjoyed the blend of cuisines, which led to some really interesting and delicious flavors. We’ll definitely be back!

The food was excellent. The cauliflower thing had really good flavors. The fried rice had a lot of textures. The Chaat- Yuni something was OK. The waiter rushed us to order. He bothered us 4 times while we were talking. Then the Chaat came, we had just begun to eat it when the other food came to the table. I realized, after the meal was over, that there was a sauce or dip for the Chaat. The waiter should have told us. They took a while to clean up the dishes. They never removed our empty plates, even after we had put all our food in doggy bags.

Great food beautifully presented. Great service. Weird atmosphere. We were the only people in restaurant for 2 hours. When we left, they closed. Waiter said they might be moving to a more populated area.

Vermilion was very unique and worth a visit! We loved the food with bold flavors and interesting mash-ups of cuisines, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very cool. The cocktails were also creative and very tasty!

We had some friends in town who had never tried Indian food and this was the perfect way to ease them into it! Our server was great, very friendly and even made a few jokes. The fusion flavors were really delicious, and all the apps had lots of nice texture. Only complaint was that some of the dishes used the same sauce... but the sauce was still really good.
